Foodbank provides essential support to many struggling families and this year has been like no other. Since the start of COVID-19, Foodbank experienced 47% higher demand for food than before. In addition, some 29% of people and families accessing food relief have never done so before.
In order to meet the growing need Gandel Foundation jumped at the opportunity to boost Foodbank’s Christmas Appeal by matching all public donations dollar-for-dollar up to $100,000, thus doubling the impact.
Not surprisingly, Victorians rallied behind Foodbank – it took only three days for the appeal to reach the matching amount! Just like Foodbank said, “It’s the generous hearts of donors who will ensure that no Victorian family will go hungry this Christmas.”
